Description
The Savanna black currant selections were bred by Richard McGinnis of British Columbia and introduced recently by the Savanna Institute, an agroforestry ecocenter in Wisconsin. This black currant has an upright growing habit that spans 4-5′ tall and wide. ‘Savanna Zing’ yields high quantities of large berries that are characterized by a pleasant, sweet flavor with mild acidity and are perfect for juicing. ‘Savanna Zing’ has good disease resistance.
