Description
An extremely winter hardy medium-sized tree that is densely branched and oval shaped. Edible fruits are good for baking and preserves. Produces snowy white blossoms. Highly valued for wildlife food and shelter. Siberian crabapple (Malus baccata) is the preferred rootstock for grafting apple varieties in interior Alaska. This offering is from Alaska Fruits in Fairbanks and is grown from local seed.
Landscaping: Prefers well drained, loam soils, plant in full sun. Tolerates light drought conditions once mature.
